The Oklahoma Correctional Employee Memorial Foundation (OCEMF) has been established to honor and preserve the memories of correctional employees in Oklahoma who have given their lives serving the citizens of this great state.
The OCEMF, a not-for-profit 501c3 organization, is charged with maintaining and constructing a suitable monument to record the names of fallen heroes for posterity; and to create in the names of those who have died, a living memorial in the form of scholarships and awards, so that these heroes are never forgotten.
The memorial is located on the Department’s grounds at 3400 Martin Luther King in Oklahoma City.
Photos taken at the Oklahoma Correctional Employees Memorial Dedication held on July 19, 2013, at the site of the memorial gardens.
On February 2, 2011, Deputy Director Hines, Administrator Dan Reynolds and the District Supervisors of the Division of Community Corrections presented a check to Oklahoma Correctional Employees Memorial Foundation President Ann Tandy for $6,852.54. Funds raised by division employees will be used to purchase the flag poles and the fountain for the memorial gardens. Deputy Director Hines challenges all other divisions/units to assist in fundraising events to make the memorial gardens a reality.
